Wilbert Ricketts
After a long struggle with cancer, on Monday, November 29th 2016 Wilbert George Ricketts of Fishers, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord. Wil was born on March 31, 1952 in the small farming district of Ashton, in the parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica. He is survived by Lilian, his loving wife of 26 years; daughter Renae; son Julius; six brothers and six sisters.
Wil attended Southern Illinois University, Illinois State University and the University of Michigan. He had a long career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and worked in the hospital laboratories. His last position was with the Roche Diagnostics as a Technical Support Specialist, supporting multiple analyser instruments for chemistry and immunology in hospitals laboratories across the US.
His family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Community North Cancer Treatment Center for their assistance during his many trips there; and to Pastor Libby Manning of Christ the Savior Lutheran Church for her prayers and spiritual support during those dark moments; and the co-workers, neighbors and friends who stopped by to offer support and well wishes during his time of illness.
At Wil’s request a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Dec. 10th 2016 at the Christ the Savior Lutheran Church 10500 E 126th St., Fishers, IN 46038. A repast will be held in the church hall after the service.
